What I Be

In March 2015, I brought acclaimed photographer Steve Rosenfield to Binghamton University to showcase his What I Be project—a national portrait series encouraging individuals to confront and own their insecurities. Each personal session involved a 45-minute conversation followed by a photo with the subject’s insecurity written on their body.

Since its launch in 2010, the project has visited campuses across the U.S., including Princeton, Columbia, Duke, Stony Brook, and the University of Chicago.

I independently organized his one-week campus residency—managing contracts, securing $5,000+ in funding, coordinating logistics, organizing a public keynote, and partnering with the University Art Museum to curate the final exhibit. Over the week, Rosenfield photographed 70+ students. The project sparked significant campus engagement and received a full feature in the student newspaper, including a spotlight in its April Fools’ edition.
